A Human Centered Model for Discussing AI in Assessment
Cormier argues that generative AI has changed very little about what we need to teach and a great deal about who controls the information ecosystem students work in, which is why an assessment that used to infer effort from a finished product now infers nothing at all. What he offers in response is deliberately a diagram rather than a policy, built so that a whole campus can argue about assessment renewal in one shared vocabulary instead of each department inventing its own. Put it in front of a committee when you need the conversation to be about what you are actually trying to measure, rather than collapsing into another argument about whether AI is good or bad.
