Reimagining the Artificial Intelligence Assessment Scale: A refined framework for educational assessment
Mike Perkins, Jasper Roe and Leon Furze present a revised version of the AI Assessment Scale, a five-level framework running from no AI use through to full AI exploration that lets you state precisely what students may do on a given task. The paper grounds the scale in learning theory and reports what went wrong and right when institutions implemented the earlier version. Working through it gives you a shared vocabulary for AI permissions that you can put in a rubric and defend at an appeal.
