guide
Artificial Intelligence at Duquesne University
Faculty and administrators can work through this free provost's-office guidance to adopt one of three ready-made AI syllabus statements (permissive, limited, or prohibited), build a course AI policy from a six-point checklist, and require students to disclose AI use in a specified citation format. For administrative work it gives concrete rules for AI-assisted email and meeting notes: use only institutionally approved tools such as Microsoft Copilot, never unprotected third-party tools like Mailbutler, get participant consent before AI note-taking, and stay within FERPA, HIPAA and the university's data governance rules. A few linked internal resources (Center for Teaching Excellence recordings, Writing Center materials) require a Duquesne login, but the core guidance, templates and most external resources are freely accessible.
